Capturing Cuteness in My First Instagram Reel
I wrapped up my first two shifts volunteering at Dogs Inc., and let me tell you, it's been such an amazing experience! I was so excited—and maybe a little nervous—during my first shift that I totally forgot to snap any pictures. As soon as I walked through the door, I dove right into work in the Puppy Kindergarten, which is where the cutest little puppies go when they leave the nursery around 7 weeks.
My shift starts at 4:00, and the very first thing I did was take the puppies outside to play. Thank goodness I only had to manage two at a time! Since they aren't named yet, I found myself calling out "puppy, puppy, puppy" in a super high-pitched voice! I totally understand why they suggest wearing shoes without laces—it's a wild but wonderful time!
After playtime, it was dinnertime for the little ones. We stayed in the kennels with them while they ate, and my favorite moment was holding the first puppy that finished eating while the other one kept munching away. Nothing beats those precious puppy snuggles!
And then, of course, after dinner comes the cleanup. Let's just say there was a lot of what they call "busy" to tidy up! I ended my shift helping with cleaning bowls and tackling loads of laundry—so much laundry! But every minute was worth it for the adorable puppy cuddles!
During my second shift, I made sure to keep my phone close so I could capture some adorable moments. I was so excited to meet a new mama and her cute little puppies in Puppy Kindergarten! They're just 5 weeks old, so their mom spends half her time with them and the other half in the adjacent kennel, which is a nice transition for both.
I kicked things off by taking all the puppies out for some playtime; then I helped feed them. After all that fun, the little ones were ready for a cozy nap. I couldn't resist snapping some pictures and filming a few videos because they were just too cute! I even turned one of the videos into my very first Instagram Reel.
I'd love for you to check it out—it was a blast putting it all together! I'm excited to make more reels, so make sure to follow me on Instagram. Can't wait to share more puppy fun with you all!
